This machine was developed to automate centering, drilling, reaming, pin insertion and inspection for electric power steering components.
It was developed as a domestic alternative to imported equipment, addressing the consumable use, cycle time, data accuracy, operating range and reliability issues described in the original project report.
Automated functions include mechanical and electrical centering, spot drilling, drilling and reaming, pin pressing with force evaluation, cooling while keeping the workpiece clean, and station changeover. Automatic monitoring, data storage and traceability support production efficiency, labor savings, quality control and process management.
The original project report describes performance comparable with equivalent Japanese, European and American equipment.
